Across East Africa, millions of people are facing famine. A climate-crisis-induced drought, coupled with regional and local conflict, impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, and soaring food prices tied to the war in Ukraine, is creating a dire situation. Your donation to the East Africa Hunger Relief Fund will provide emergency relief, food, water, medicine, and other essential supplies to people in need.
More than 20 million people across several East African nations, including Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, and Sudan, are at risk of starvation. The hunger crisis is expected to worsen over the coming months as severe and prolonged drought, the impact of war in Ukraine, and violence and armed conflict continue. An urgent and global response is vital for these communities' survival.
All donations to this fund will support hunger relief efforts in East Africa. Initially, the fund will help local, vetted partners address the affected communities' immediate needs, such as access to food, clean water, and basic sanitation. The fund will later transition to focus support on longer-term recovery efforts run by local organizations to address food insecurity.
