By Meredith Ouellette | Clinical Director
Over the past several months, your support has continued to make an immediate difference for infants and families across the Washington DC region. At Potomac River Clinic, we are seeing growing demand for early diagnostic services.
Because of your generosity, we have been able to provide timely Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing for infants regardless of insurance status, helping families access critical answers during an incredibly important developmental window. Since January 2026, we have completed 15 infant ABRs. While many families elsewhere in the District continue to face significant waitlists for diagnostic testing, our team has been successful at keeping wait times to less than eight days.
Early diagnosis creates an opportunity for earlier intervention, stronger language development, and improved long-term outcomes for children. Your support is helping make that possible for families who might otherwise fall through the cracks.
We are strengthening partnerships with hospitals, pediatricians, and community providers to improve referral pathways and reduce barriers to care.
Thank you for being part of this work and for helping to ensure that more children have the opportunity to learn, communicate, and thrive.
