Dear friends,
Greetings from Bangalore Baptist Hospital Society.
From building dreams to building houses, chiming wedding bells to springing daily activities, you've been part of the colourful chapters of their life. Thank you.
Building dreams
Chennappa's house construction became a hot topic in the village. "How is this possible?" was the question on everyone's lips. Just a few years ago, Chennappa was known for his alcohol addiction, often found lying on the streets and pavements. When the villagers learned that Chennappa had attended a de-addiction camp, achieved sobriety, earned, and saved to build a house, a profound silence fell over them. They said, "Please inform us when you organise such camps; there are a few in our village who could greatly benefit from them."
When health inspires talks
Thimmamma cherishes our home visits. During our regular check-ins to monitor her health and engage in conversations about her well-being, family, and gardening, we can feel a vibrant energy radiating from her. She once said, "I eagerly await your visits to share countless stories, like the jackfruit I saved for you from my garden. I can tend to my garden thanks to your medical care. I am truly grateful for your ongoing support and care."
Wedding bells
The cancer had taken a toll on Narayannappa, leaving him weary and emaciated. His appetite had vanished, and he grappled with depression. When our team reached out to him, he could barely catch his breath, and excruciating pain wracked his body. Care and medicines, delivered with kindness, introduced a heartwarming twist to his story.
"I feel much better now. I can sit and chat. Let's start planning our granddaughter's wedding," he told his family. Everyone's faces lit up, and even the neighbours joined in, exclaiming, "Oh, a wedding? How wonderful! Let's celebrate."
Narayannappa quickly expressed his gratitude for all the care and support he received.
Our regular home visits to rural villages, which encompass health check-ups, aiding individuals in their battle against alcohol addiction, and delivering palliative care, along with the presence of our clinics and a specialised village hospital, are a genuine blessing for the underprivileged in these regions. These initiatives, combined with our main hospital dedicated to tackling complex health issues, underline the critical role donors like you play in our mission.
We are grateful for your support and eagerly anticipate your ongoing partnership surrounding our community with the warmth of your generosity.
Warmly
Carol
