Dear donors,
Hope you are doing well. Thank you for your continued support.
We are happy to share that we have extended our services to three more districts to provide healthcare to those needing primary healthcare. These communities live far from any primary healthcare centres and lack of transport facilities make it tough for them to access such facilities.
We connected with the community, identified their health needs, and laid the groundwork for improving health in these areas. We identified the most vulnerable—the sick, elderly, and people with disabilities—and initiated steps to create a sensitive healthcare ecosystem for everyone. We will keep you posted of the progress.
Regarding the existing services we provide in the rural villages, we'd love to share the story of 80-year-old Jeyamma, who is diabetic. "I need to travel 100 km just to check my sugar level. Buses come seldom, and someone has to take me on a bike, which is tough for me at this age. But your healthcare worker regularly visits, checks my sugar level, and brings the medicine too. Where can I get such a service?" she says. When our doctors visit her village for regular monthly consultations, she receives her check-ups and stays healthy. She is fit to take care of her goats and hens along with her husband.
In another village, 32-year-old Manjula has overcome her depression. Her mother shares, "She wouldn't talk to anyone. The entire day she'd stay inside her room. She wasn't even taking care of her baby. After your counseling, consultation with the doctor, and medication, there's been so much improvement. My neighbors and relatives kept asking us, and we couldn't share the problem with them." In the villages, mental health is a challenge. People begin to treat and look at you differently. It's a huge problem. "Now she is fine. She interacts with us and takes care of her baby well and has started to help me in household work. We are so relieved. Thank you so much."
We hope these stories give you an indication of how much your support is bringing transformative change. We'd love to see your continued donations so that we can reach out to more people.
Thank you once again for your generosity.
Gratefully,
Carol
