Twelve Years of Standing With Women Facing Cancer

By ARACELI ROMERO | Project Leader

We celebrate 12 years of providing shelter, care, and dignity to women navigating a cancer diagnosis — and to the families who support them. None of this would be possible without the trust and generosity of donors like you.

Impact: January – March 2026

From January to March 2026, your support allowed us to reach 892 women across our programs. Here is what we were able to accomplish together:

  • We provided 73 women with safe shelter during their treatment
  • We served 4,675 meals to patients and caregivers
  • We transported 69 patients to their medical appointments
  • We delivered oncological medication to 87 patients
  • We supported 140 patients through oncological rehabilitation
  • We provided psychological therapy to 50 patients
  • We delivered monthly food baskets to 55 families

Every one of these numbers represents a woman who did not have to choose between her treatment and her basic needs because you chose to help, and because we were there.

Beyond Shelter: Building Dignity and Community

We believe that healing goes beyond medical care. That is why, this quarter, we offered our beneficiaries an art therapy workshop, a self-care and makeup class, and a talk on inner wellness — spaces we created to help restore confidence and emotional strength during one of the hardest moments of their lives.

We also took our mission beyond our walls. We visited Vainilla Molina's facilities in Guadalajara to carry out an early breast cancer detection campaign, bringing potentially life-saving information directly to working women in our community. And together with corporate volunteers from Oracle and Jabil, we prepared breakfasts for patients at the Instituto Jalisciense de Cancerología many of whom travel hours from rural communities with no resources and no familiar faces in the city.

We are proud of each of these actions, and we are grateful to every partner and donor who made them possible.

A Story of Hope: Rosy's Journey

One of the women we had the privilege of accompanying this year is Rosy — 41 years old, a mother of four, and a cervical cancer patient who traveled to Guadalajara from Sayula, Jalisco, to receive her treatment. Before she found us, she and her husband spent several nights sleeping in their truck outside the Instituto Jalisciense de Cancerología, with no money for a hotel and no one to turn to in an unfamiliar city.

When Rosy arrived at Cruz Rosa, we welcomed her with a safe place to rest, warm meals, and a team committed to walking alongside her at every step. With that support, she was able to focus fully on her recovery.

"When I arrived at Cruz Rosa, I found a place where I could feel calm — with support, delicious food, and people who were with me at every moment. Thanks to this, I could focus on my treatment without feeling alone." — Rosy, cervical cancer patient and mother of 4, from Sayula, Jalisco.

Rosy's story is not unique, it is the story of hundreds of women who come through our doors each year. And with your continued support, we can make sure every one of them finds the same welcome, the same care, and the same hope that she did.

Thank You

Twelve years ago, we opened our doors with a simple but powerful belief: no woman should face cancer alone. Today, thanks to you, that belief is a living reality for hundreds of women and families across Jalisco.

We are deeply grateful for your trust, your generosity, and your commitment to our mission. Your donation is not just a contribution — it is a lifeline that we carry with us into everything we do. Thank you for standing with us, and for standing with every woman we serve.
