With this project, we will be able to continue supporting 450 low-income women diagnosed with cancer and their families in Mexico by getting their treatments and medications. We are committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent any woman from completing her cancer treatments.
Cancer is the main cause of death in women in Mexico. Given this, Guadalajara, CDMX, and Monterrey receive most of the oncology patients in their clinics and hospitals. Precariousness, ignorance, institutional violence, and lack of support are some of the problems that patients and their families face, apart from their cancer situation. This problem has generated the delay and cancellation of oncological treatments, leaving women without options to access medical services.
We recognize that guaranteeing access to health for cancer patients is a responsibility that belongs to all the sectors that make up the social fabric, we from the organized civil society have worked tirelessly to consolidate a care program that produces an improvement. From our trenches, we will continue working to provide hope of life to each of our beneficiaries. We want to ensure that as long as we can they will have all what they need for their treatments.
The life expectancy of the women beneficiaries of our program is 87%. Therefore, we consider that this result is generated by the effectiveness of our program. The continuity of our program will allow us to guarantee complete treatment for 240 women with cancer
