The Drops Initiative: Clean Water for Kenya is currently focused on building the partnerships, community relationships, and implementation foundation needed to expand sustainable access to clean and safe water in underserved communities.
During this reporting period, our priority has been to strengthen the foundation of the initiative through stakeholder engagement, partnership development, and discussions around practical approaches to addressing water-access challenges. We recognize that sustainable water solutions require more than providing short-term assistance; they require strong community ownership, reliable partnerships, appropriate infrastructure, and long-term sustainability.
Through our engagement with community stakeholders and potential partners, we have continued to better understand the barriers communities face in accessing safe and reliable water. These conversations are helping us identify priority needs and explore opportunities for collaboration in areas such as water infrastructure, community awareness, technical support, and resource mobilization.
An important achievement during this period has therefore been building relationships and creating a stronger platform for implementation. We are working toward partnerships that can bring together community knowledge, technical expertise, resources, and local leadership to ensure that future interventions respond to actual community needs and can be maintained over time.
The project is still developing, and we are committed to being transparent about this stage of the initiative. Rather than measuring progress only by the number of water points established, we are also recognizing the importance of the groundwork required to make those interventions effective and sustainable.
Looking Ahead
Our next phase will focus on translating these partnerships and discussions into concrete community-level action. This includes strengthening strategic partnerships, identifying priority communities, mobilizing resources, and developing practical clean-water interventions that can deliver lasting benefits.
We believe that every drop matters, but sustainable impact requires strong foundations. The relationships and partnerships being developed through the Only Drops Initiative are an important step toward creating lasting access to clean and safe water for communities in Kenya.
