International Freedom Council continues to work on the program: Drinking Water for All, (DWAP). The DWA program aims to install drinking water filtering plants and drill deep wells in schools and parishes facilities to deliver safe water for communities.
We are very proud to announce that during the first half of 2024 we are installing a water purification plant in a parish that belongs to a community of approximately 5000 people in Carapita, a low-income sector of the Capital District (Caracas), Venezuela. This parish prepares lunches are for 400 children daily. In this industrial kitchen the drinking water systems is so precarious that it takes about 2 hours to fill a 5-gallon bottle. The water plant will not only help this extraordinary social work of feeding children from 4 to 12 years old daily in a balanced way, but it will also allow them to provide water for the community.
This project will have a measurable impact on the following aspects:
The IFC water project is a model on improving the lives of children in Venezuela. It is a self-sustaining project that will provide clean water for the communities for many years to come. The project is also a testament to IFC's commitment on improving the quality of life of the most disadvantaged Venezuelan children and their families.
