Water, essential element for Venezuelan Children

International Freedom Council continues to work tirelessly to improve the situation of the communities of the rural area of Turgua and Mariche. We are pleased to update you in one of IFC's programs: Health and Clean Water (HCW). The HCW program aims to install drinking water filtering plants and drill deep wells in school facilities to deliver safe water for the community.

In January 2023, IFC successfully implemented a water project in a school in Mariche, Miranda state providing 17 liters per second. The school of 900 students had been without running water for 30 years. The IFC project drilled a deep well, which provides the school with clean and safe water. The project has had a significant impact on the health and well-being of the children and the whole school. They are now able to drink clean water, which has reduced the incidence of waterborne diseases. The project has also improved the children's academic performance, as they are no longer tired and sick from drinking contaminated water.

• The project also included training for the school staff on how to maintain the water filtering plant.
• The IFC is currently working on implementing similar water projects in other schools in Venezuela.

Our second Water Project, Water, essential element for the children of Venezuela, has strived to obtain the resources to bring accessible and safe water to the community in the rural area of Turgua, the inhabitants of this area do not receive any type of water by pipe.

The IFC water project is a model for how to improve the lives of children in Venezuela. It is a self-sustaining project that will provide clean water for the school for many years to come. The project is also a testament to the IFC's commitment to improving the quality of life of the most disadvantaged Venezuelan children.
