Survey for analyzing COVID situation
Community members in the remote coastal areas near Sundarbans confirm that during the COVID-19 crisis they have not been contacted by health authorities concerning their health situation. This is an issue as the analysis shows that though their villages are remote, the community members are not completely isolated, but on the contrary, through their work as daily laborers and the search for work they are in regular contact with other persons outside their villages and therefore may be infected. Communication to the outside of their community on social and health issues happens mainly with humanitarian NGOs; only very few respondents have been in contact on this subject with the Union Parishad (lowest political/administrative level). No systematic evaluation of their health situation has happened though Munda organizations keep track of the social situation of their community members and were able to produce disaggregated information on the damage done by cyclone Amphan to coastal villages within a few days only. No systematic testing happened in the those villages. This is illustrated by a community report in contradiction to the official statement: one young male Munda community member was tested positive when he crossed the border from India. He was treated in hospital; however the authorities are not aware of this.
So, we are requesting all our donors to come forward for the aid of those victim people. We hope that all our donors will start monthly recurring donation for the helpless, disaster vulnerable poor people. Link of recurring donation is as follows

Way to Recovery from Pandemic

Lonely Sailor with no Passengers
Back to back disasters like cyclone Amphan and pandemic COVID-19 have broken the backbone of coastal people;s lives in Bangladesh. Especially of those who live in the territory of mighty Sundarbans. The South-West coastal regions of Bangladesh is prone to natural as well as health hazards. The COVID-19 pandemic and nationwide lockdown has exacerbated the ongoing hardships that come with existing marginalization of and discrimination against forest peoples.
Meeting with local people has given us a very sad picture of their miserable lives after COVID-19 emergency situation. They have been sitting jobless most of the days of the month. Maximum families have borrowed loans from money lenders. They can’t pay the loans if they don’t have any earnings. Though the lockdown situation is minimized but the economic condition has not gotten better.
Due to Covid- 19 pandemic, this small source of income is almost closed. Due to lockdown, last two year the road transportations were off. They did not get the value of their Fish/crab and other forest resources and also they could not go out of the village for work. As a result, they are living miserable lives.
So, we are requesting all our donors to come forward for the aid of those victim people. We hope that all our donors will start monthly recurring donation for the helpless, disaster vulnerable poor people. Link of recurring donation is as follows

Stand for the coastal people in Covid-19

Support to the coastal people
Sundarbans Coastal zone of Bangladesh is most vulnerable to disaster damage as it faces the first attack of any natural calamities. Recent heavy monsoon caused flooding in the Sundarbans coastal areas. The suffering of people is intolerable. Peoples’ house, cropland, the fish farm has drowned into the water. Coastal people are going through harsh conditions. Covid-19 has made their life more complicated. Due to back-to-back lockdown, income opportunities were reduced. Yet now they have not recovered the loss due to Covi-19. BEDS provided emergency relief support to 150 coastal families with the help of GlobalGiving. BEDS supported duck, chicken, sheep, seeds to the villagers. But that’s not enough for the disaster coastal affected people. But currently we are unable to provide those people with direct support as we have no fund available right now.
So, we are requesting all our donors to come forward for the aid of those victim people. We hope that all our donors will start monthly recurring donation for the helpless, disaster vulnerable poor people. Link of recurring donation is as follows
