Dear Friends,
We wanted to share a short story about one of our talented young students.
Meet Ngoc, a bright and determined 11th grader, who loves to play the guitar. Ngoc’s family is her foundation and support system, she is the oldest child with one younger brother Huy, who looks up to her as an older sister and a role model. Ngoc’s parents work hard to support her and her brother's education and dreams. Her father works as a bricklayer, putting in long hours each day to make sure he can support the family. As for her mother, she balances her responsibilities as a factory worker and caring for her two children.
Ngoc has a profound love for learning, especially biology, a subject that sparks her curiosity and drives her ambition to understand the intricate workings of the human body. Her passion for science is closely tied to her dream of studying medicine, and to one day becoming a doctor. A doctor dedicated to improving people's lives in Vietnam.
Despite the challenges her family faces, Ngoc finds joy and excitement in everyday activities. Outside of her academic pursuits, she has found joy and personal growth through her experience attending our music program, where she is learning to play the guitar. She describes our program as a wonderful and welcoming environment, led by a fun and friendly teacher who makes learning music alongside her classmates fun and encouraging. She appreciates the teaching methods used in the classroom which consist of slow and thorough instructions, allowing her to progress steadily and master each skill at her own pace.
As Ngoc continues to attend our music program, she not only will be practicing her guitar skills but also building her self-confidence. One of the main goals of all of our programs for girls, is to help boost their self-esteem, through creativity and self-expression. The program has become an essential part of Ngoc’s life, inspiring her and her fellow students that it’s OK to pursue their individual dreams. With the support of her family, her teachers, and Rock-Paper-Scissors, Ngoc is working hard toward a future, filled with music, learning, and the hope of making a lasting impact as a doctor.
Thank you all for your continued donations and support for our students like Ngoc, we could not provide so many opportunities like these for our students without your help.
