Thank you for supporting our work with less fortunate children. The Tony Hawks Children's Health Centre improves the life quality of chronically ill children from socially vulnerable families. They combine multi-disciplinary rehabilitation with parental education to help promote each child’s integration into society. The aim is to optimize the child’s potential for the future development of their young bodies.

While the service is free to access for users, the annual budget to operate the Centre is in the region of £92,000.

Additional funding will help the team at the Tony Hawks Centre maintain their free-to-use service, and allow them to enhance and replace orthopaedic equipment.  The Centre also needs to maintain their programme of providing desperately needy children and their families practical aid in the form of medications, food, and clothing.

The household budgets for families with disabled children are always under severe pressure. Economic crisis such as that experienced with Covid-19 makes such pressure even harder.

Over the Christmas period, the team from the centre, distributed food packages to families in need. The families were thankful for the kindness they received.

Food packages are so important for struggling families, but with your support, we are giving children the tools to reach their full potential.

Thank you for supporting this programme.

With gratitude

Dear Supporter,

We are blessed to have supporters as yourself, you are giving hope to vulnerable children with disabilities.

Andrei suffers from Cerebral palsy and typically experiences one epileptic seizure every day

His mother doesn’t work, because she has to take care of Andrei. Only father is working and as a result family’s income only just covers their utilities and food bills but very often, they are struggling to pay the bills. Andrei needs medical treatment every day. Because of neurological health problems he is often nervous and experiences epileptic seizures. The ability to concentrate and attention is greatly affected.

He loves to colour, to watch cartoons, but most of all he loves his cat that recently his parents gave him. His mother teaches him how to take care of the cat, and treat her calmly, so as not to scare her. Also taking care of the cat teaches Andrei to be more patient.

The Tony Hawks Centre provides Andrei with free rehabilitation courses, consisting of massage, physio- and hydro- therapy. Andrei has also received food packages and some financial help towards school supplies.

Thanks to your kind donations we are keeping families together and give hope to less fortunate children.

Thank you for making our work possible

Dear Supporter,

The Tony Hawks Children's Health Centre improves the life quality of chronically ill children from socially vulnerable families. By working with parents of young children, the Centre can give a hope to the family and prevent the child being abandoned to a life locked away in an institution.

Rehabilitation helps a child, adult or older person to be as independent as possible in everyday activities and enables participation in education, work, recreation and meaningful life roles such as taking care of family. World Health Organisation

They combine multi-disciplinary rehabilitation with parental education to help promote each child’s integration into society.

Evidence shows that early intervention at the primary care level can significantly reduce the prevalence of many chronic conditions and delay the onset of conditions, such as for cerebral palsy. BMJ 2021;372:n9

Tony Hawks Centre, Moldova offers high quality rehabilitation services for free. The Centre also provides desperately needy children and their families practical aid in the form of medications, food and clothing.

Thanks to your kind support we can maintain this crucial service and give children living with disabilities the best start in life.

Thank you

Dear Supporter,

Tony Hawks Centre, Moldova offers life transforming therapies for children with physical disabilities. It is a medical social centre which was established on moral grounds 20 years ago.

We would like to underline the work of our specialist in child psychology, Lydia.

She is a graduate of Theological Seminary. She has loads of experience in working with women. Lydia was an enormous help to families with disabled children during the quarantine who experienced a variety of emotional and psychological problems.

Also, during quarantine Lydia assisted those who needed psychological help and mainly worked online or over the phone. She called all our patients and was the first to find out about their problems.

Using her experience and the word of God, she brought harmony and peace to many families. In this difficult time disabled teenagers were most affected. Lydia worked with the most difficult cases.

She assists about 15 people through online during her 3-day working week. Lydia's arrival has had a pleasant effect on Tony Hawk’s  team and has united us in fulfilling our tasks.

During difficult times we are blessed to have people who inspire our team and support children and their families. On 2020 the Centre offered 6.528 therapy sessions (1633 remotely and 4895 in person).

This would not have been possible without your kind support.

Thank you.

Dear Supporter,

Life is full of challenges however overcoming our challenges does truly make life more meaningful.

Kate is an 8-year-old girl with Down syndrome. She lives with her mother, and sadly is all too often the case with such vulnerable families, she has no father.

The family does not have a house of their own, they rent a room. The mother is employed as a personal assistant for the little girl. They are struggling with material insufficiency all the time. The mother was diagnosed with cancer, more than one year she is fighting the disease, doing many treatments.  Thankfully at present her condition has improved.

The family are in desperate need of material support to help them go from one day to another without the fear of having nothing to eat, and we are currently raising funds to help this family.

Kate loves to attend school, and she is accompanied by her mother. She is a very sociable girl, smiling all the time, talkative and most of all she likes to sing and dance.

The Tony Hawks Centre,Moldova provides free rehabilitation courses consisting of massage, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, music therapy and food parcels. Recently Kate received a pair of orthopaedic shoes for her birthday. She was very excited and thankful.

Thanks to your kind donations Kate can hope for a better future.

With your support we are changing real lives.

Thank you
