Ensure Safe Pregnancy and Childbirth in Kenya

First of all, we would like to thank you, on behalf of the Maisha Foundation, our women and babies for your contribution to our campaign to ensure dignity during pregnancy and childbirth in Kenya.

Thanks to your contribution we have been able to care for 12 mothers, their unborn children and their children already born during January and February. Your donation has been used to cover prenatal check-ups, ultrasounds, medications, births and emergencies, among other expenses. 

How was your donation used in January and February?

• The total mothers benefited are 12  (Agnes, Barbara, Blessings, Elizabeth, Linet, Mitchel, Natasha, Purity, Seline, Serena, Staicy and Vivian) and their newborns or unborn children who are 13 (one mother has twins).
• So far in 2025 we have welcomed 2 babies through natural delivery. Rodrigo and Tachel were born!
• We have carried out 6 ultrasounds to find out the health of the baby and the weeks of gestation of the new mothers that enter in the Maisha Center.
• We covered 2 long-term hospitalizations. One after Rodrigo´s delivery and another for one of the twins. Both babies are in perfect condition.
• Our mothers or babies attended 6 consultations and examinations to treat some health problem. Example: urinary infection, colds, etc
• Two pregnant women were covered by local health insurance (SHA) for one year. We will soon cover the insurance for 5 more women.

All this effort has meant an expense of 700 dollars in 2 months. Thank you very much for being part of this work! We will continue to strive to bring dignity to Kenyan women and their children.
