Digital Transformation Project Progress Report
The Digital Transformation Project aims to equip 15 public schools from 15 provinces of Burundi with ICT laboratories (each equipped with 20 computers) and to provide ICT skills training to 300 teachers on integrating technology into teaching and learning. This initiative is designed to accelerate access to quality educational resources and help bridge the digital divide across the remaining provinces of Burundi.
Project Objectives
a) To enhance ICT proficiency among teachers and administrators, promoting digital transformation in teaching and learning across 15 schools in Burundi. Teachers are guided on how to effectively use ICT tools and the internet to improve their classroom practices.
b) To increase access to online teaching and learning resources for both teachers and students.
c) To foster knowledge exchange, innovation, digital entrepreneurship, and social values through the sharing of online resources and collaborative learning platforms
Expected Impact
Achievements to Date
With support from GlobalGiving and other partners, we have already equipped three schools and one orphanage with ICT laboratories:
Capacity Building and Technical Support
This year, we have conducted ICT training sessions for teachers and capacity-building initiatives to strengthen digital literacy and confidence in using ICT tools. We also provided ongoing technical support to the schools benefiting from our ICT labs across the country.
Recent Developments (September – November 2025)
During this period, we supported two additional schools in acquiring laptops for their digital labs and assisted them in installing Starlink internet connections, ensuring that both teachers and students have reliable access to online educational resources.
Next Steps
We continue our resource mobilization efforts to reach our goal of equipping all 15 schools.
Thank you for your continued support. Together, we are transforming education and making a lasting difference in the lives of children in Burundi.
