Our mission to bridge the digital divide for girls in rural Morocco is progressing steadily. With the generous support of our donors, we are currently in the process of identifying five new Digital Houses in the regions of Beni-Mellal, Dakhla, Oujda, Tangiers, and Laayoune. These new community hubs will provide safe and supportive learning environments, equipping 100 girls annually with essential skills in coding, entrepreneurship, and leadership through our digital platform, TITRIT.
Current Progress
Identification Phase: We are actively engaging with local NGOs and community leaders to select the most impactful locations for the new Digital Houses. This involves assessing accessibility, infrastructure, and local needs to ensure maximum benefit for the girls.
Equipment & Logistics Planning: eSTEM Morocco is working on securing laptops and essential resources to furnish these hubs, ensuring that the selected locations are well-equipped to support digital learning.
Community Mobilization: Outreach efforts are underway to recruit girls from underserved communities, many of whom lack access to technology in their schools or homes.
Why This Matters In Morocco’s rural areas, 41.56% of girls drop out of school due to long commutes, early marriage, and limited access to technology. Without intervention, girls like Ikram from Oumjniba in the Atlas Mountains remain disconnected from digital learning opportunities. Through Digital Houses, we are breaking these barriers and opening pathways for their future.
Looking Ahead
Official Selection of Five Digital Houses (Q2 2025)
Deployment of Equipment & Onboarding (Q3 2025)
