As we start a new academic year, providing even more girls across Morocco with access to education, we’ve been reflecting on what has been an incredible year for EFAM.
We’re excited to share our 2025/26 Impact Report, which demonstrates the power our work has on transforming the lives of girls and young women. As our biggest year in history, it’s definitely something to be celebrated.
543 girls accessed education through the programmes we support
38 girls took their Baccalaureate exams with a 96% pass rate
23 girls graduated from university with degrees with an 89% exam pass rate
83 girls with Down syndrome supported by our inclusive education project
82,620 safe nights that girls spent in boarding houses
293,220 healthy meals provided for girls
This is just a snippet of everything that has been achieved over the past year and of course, your support has made this possible - so from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
We hope you take the time to read it through and see what impact we are creating - plus you’ll get to hear from some of the girls themselves on what they have achieved - thanks to a lot of hard work and dedication on their part and some amazing people behind the scenes of our projects.
“Last week marked a historic moment for Morocco as Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri became our first female Head of Government. My thoughts, of course, go straight to the girls, and what this moment could mean for their futures - especially as we now start a new academic year off the back of such a successful 2025-2026.
“Young girls growing up in places where going to school is not guaranteed, and a girl can be forced to make her ambitions smaller before she has had the chance to even discover them.
“I wonder what this news will mean in their homes. What a mother might say to her daughter. Whether a girl will feel able to say out loud what she wants to become, and whether those around her might listen a little differently.
“Through our work at Education For All Morocco, I think often about how much of a girl’s future depends on circumstances she cannot control. The distance to school, the family finances, the support available to her. Helping her overcome those barriers is our daily work. Seeing women in positions of power gives her something else too, a reason to believe that maybe there is a place for her up there too.
“In my mother’s generation, many women in rural Morocco never had the chance to learn to read and write. One generation and we see incredible change within the nation, while knowing how much work we still have to do.
“For us, that work continues with making sure girls can get to school, have somewhere safe to live while they study, and have support to take the next step, including university.
“My hope is that this historical announcement gives more girls the confidence to imagine a bigger future, and encourages all of us to take their ambitions seriously.
“I would love to see a girl hear this news and think, “Maybe I could do that too.” Then have every chance to find out.”
We will, of course, be sharing regular updates about the new academic year and how our wonderful girls are progressing.
