Jack learning to hike after his amputation!
First off I want to thank everyone so much for making out 2013 so successful and a BIG thank you to all of the folks at VMware who graciously and generously used their gift cards to support our efforts!!
Since our clinic opened we have spay and neutered approximately 50 dogs, found homes for 6, treated several animals for mange, successfully amputated a leg from one puppy (see photo of happy Jack below) and cared for multiple animals with sicknesses and wounds, included electrocuted monkeys, a sheep bit by a wolf, and cows with leeches! It is never a dull moment at DAR.
Our next big project coming up this month is a collaborative effort with a wondeful NGO called Tong-Len, who provides education for children and food for those living in a slum area of Dharamsala called Charan. In this tent city lives 150 dogs that have not been vaccinated for rabies since 2006. As this is a huge health risk to the community of Charan, DAR is partnering with The Department of Animal Husbandry to run a vaccination camp the 3rd week of this month and then to follow up with a spay/neuter program.
DAR hopes to have more collaborative projects like this in 2014 to continue to improve the welfare of the community for animals and people.

Thank you again for your continued support. If you have an specific questions, please feel free to email me at DARescue@gmail.com
