Help Street Dogs in Dharamsala and Save Lives

Dear Supporter,  

Thank you for all of your support in 2025.

2025 brought its share of heartbreak and uncertainty, especially with the Supreme Court’s pending decision to remove street dogs and place them in non-existent kennels without a clear welfare plan, instead of demanding that the government use the funds already allocated by law for sterilization and vaccination. The next ruling is scheduled for January 7, 2026.

However, it was also a remarkable year of growth, impact, and new beginnings for us, giving a real life view of what happens to a community when programs are in place. 

We’re thrilled to share that we achieved a new high of 1,312 sterilizations and 3,424 rabies vaccinations this year—a 9% increase over last year.

In addition, thanks to adding two more Road Safety Murals, with a total of five in town, we have seen a 7% decrease in hit-and-runs. That may not seem like a lot, but it means many lives were saved from deadly car accidents.

Our new partnership with Humane World for Animals (formerly the Humane Society of the United States/International) allowed us to hone our veterinary and catching skills, and we were able to expand our Community Outreach Program.

We reached over 600 adults and children in person, and thousands via radio shows and press coverage for our rabies and sterilization camps.
