District Governor Keith Brownlie has chosen the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance as his Charity of the year. The Air Ambulance does a fantastic job in saving lives and Keith's aim is to help them save more. He is asking everyone in Essex and East Hertfordshire to donate whatever they can to support this lifesaving charity.

Our air ambulance doctors and paramedics work 24/7 and are dispatched up to 6 times a day. They aim to save lives and reduce/prevent disability and suffering from critical illness/injury by providing a first-class pre-hospital emergency medical service. Treating patients at the scene, away from immediate hospital support, they could be performing open-heart surgery on a road one minute and managing a blood transfusion mid-air the next.

Saving a life is the most valuable gift possible and the team at Essex & Herts Air Ambulance do this on a daily basis. I have seen the Air Ambulance in action at close quarters and was absolutely speechless at the care and dedication of the team in very difficult circumstances. They need every penny possible to continue to serve us and save lives and I can understand why DG Keith has chosen to support this very special cause. Funding a Rapid Response vehicle will help save more lives.

Long-Term Impact

With your help the critical care team of doctors and paramedics will continue to perform increasingly complex medical procedures in unusual locations and scenarios. The result will be a continually stronger air ambulance for the people of Essex and Hertfordshire and the saving of more lives. In addition, our high-tech training environment will become a Centre of Excellence, setting training standards for wider medical and emergency service communities across Essex and Hertfordshire and beyond.
