Vocational Fair in Pro Niños.
The Day Center hosted the Vocational Fair where junior high schoolers were able to find a wide range of alternative options beside school, as well as health and vocational counseling.
This event took place on June the 8th, inviting youngsters whom, due to behavioral and school problems, presented the risk of not continuing with their higher education. Our guests received information about rights, courses, workshops, scholarships and sexual and reproductive health, as well as the skills development programs that are carried out at Fundación Pro Niños de la Calle IAP.
We also invited government agencies committed to the support and development of youth. Such as the Youth Institute which provided advice on sexual and reproductive health and the Institute for the Care and Prevention of Addictions in Mexico City which informed the kids about addictions and performed rapid HIV testing and spirometry.
On the other hand, the Innovation and Learning Network, shared information about the academic courses that they offer, as well as the scholarships provided for these courses, Faro Indios Verdes informed about activities and workshops they offer in their facilities. In addition, Promotora Social Mexico’s staff gave a talk about vocational orientation.
At the same time, Fundación Pro Niños’ staff shared with the students information about Industrial Training Centers and the courses that they offer near Pro Niños facilities.
The boys attending the Vocational Fair were completely interested in the information received as it will allow them to choose different activities according to their interests and tastes, acquiring in addition knowledge about sexual and reproductive health.
