At Pro Niños we have accompanied Melissa since she was 5 years old, together with her family they have used her in our programs.
Melissa's family was affected by the scarcity of economic resources, violence in the environment and the lack of opportunities to enjoy a decent life. Melissa's mother was in charge of working, and being a single-parent family, she had to leave Melissa alone for long periods of time. This puts her at high risk of living on the streets, threatening her safety, development and her stay in school.
Melissa* is currently 13 years old, and has developed skills that allow her to grow up safely and healthily, receives educational support to attend the 2nd grade of secondary school, and now has support networks that allow her to freely exercise her rights and enjoy a healthy life. with opportunities.
Melissa's mom has also developed positive parenting skills where she has been able to balance family, personal, and Melissa's needs.
