The house mother and staff are finalizing the paperwork to complete the full ownership of the land recently obtained. The U.S. team is hard at work to help identify and tie up any loose ends in this area. The house mother and staff are doing all they can to provide the safest environment possible under much less-than-perfect conditions and is eagerly awaiting the next steps to realizing the new home.
The U.S. team are identifying both local resources to gather all needed input with reference to a Capital Campaign and also are lining up contacts on the ground in Kenya with regards to project management. Intial design sketches have been initiated and will progress to more formal layouts and artist renderings. Although the need is great and hearts and minds are wanting to move at warp speed, the need to progress at an appropriate speed to cover all bases and possible contingencies cannot be overstated.
The children are obviously hopeful and excited about this new home coming to fruition and are making the best of current conditions and we are very proud of them!
