The dental programs continue with more students and parents becoming aware of the importance of dental treatment for their entire wellbeing.
We briefly focused on the public schools for special needs students because our local dentist said they had the greatest need. We have found that the high school age students are particularly interested in our program, mostly because they have already experienced losing teeth from untreated cavities and they don't want to lose more! Our local dentists have advice to inexpensively help anyone, but particularly the underserved.
We want to thank the America's ToothFairy Foundation for supplying PDFs of educational materials in Spanish that we have started to use. We show examples below.
Also, SmileMakers discounted pricing has brought the price of our packets to half of what it was. We chose originally not to supply 'travel' toothbrushes and paste, but ones that will last the children for 3 or more months. However, buying these materials is our limiting factor to provide more workshops.
We have more dentists in the local area interested on helping with our workshops, and that is gratifying, too.
