STEM Modelling Schools" Project

By Thaweechoke Suphophark | Project Leader

In response, the CCF Foundation collaborated with schools to implement the “STEM Modelling Schools” Project, emphasizing dengue prevention and control using STEM education (Science,Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). This effort seeks to improve students' analytical, creative, and problem-solving abilities through integrated learning, promoting the application of scientific and mathematical knowledge to real-world challenges. The program engages students, community members, and partner networks in collaborative initiatives to devise creative ways for

dengue prevention and control.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

1. To enhance the involvement of students in the application of STEM (Science, Technology,Engineering, and Mathematics) strategies for preventing and managing dengue fever in schools and communities, with a focus on developing skills that enable the utilization of knowledge in practical situations.

2. To engage students in eliminating Aedes mosquito breeding grounds and larvae as a preventive strategy against the spread of dengue fever, a disease these mosquitoes carry. This initiative seeks to mitigate the danger of disease epidemics in the region.

3. To improve the understanding of dengue fever prevention among students and community members while raising awareness and sustainable behaviors to maintain superior hygiene in the community.

Conclusion

The key factors for the successful implementation of a dengue prevention and control initiative utilizing the STEM approach include broad stakeholder engagement, practical application of knowledge and technology, community education, continuous monitoring and evaluation, organizational backing, promotion of innovation, efficient management, and sustained project advancement.
