Blerta is sixteen years old and attends the Day Centre every day.
Blerta has been attending the Day Centre for two years and enjoys playing with materials she can manipulate into shapes. Since attending the centre Blerta has learnt to feed and to dress herself.
Blerta is one of four children with two older brothers and a younger sister of nine years old. They live with their parents in an apartment in a small suburb of Kukes city. This suburb suffers from a lack of water, being provided for four hours per day only. As a young child Blerta was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. She has never attended school, has not benefitted from any physiotherapy or speech therapy and has no verbal communication.
Her mother, Lume walks with Blerta to and from the Day Centre in all weathers as there is no public transport and the centre does not provide transport for the children. Lume says that Blerta likes to walk and is very happy when she comes to the Day Centre.
For Blerta and the other children like her, can you donate so that we can provide more equipment and activities to build her independence skills and create a place of learning and laughter?
