Times are incredibly hard in Sudan.
The war is now in its second year.
11 million people have been displaced.
1.2 million pregnant and breastfeeding mothers are malnourished and unable to feed their babies.
729,000 children under 5 are suffering from severe acute malnutrition.
The statistics are utterly heart-breaking.
But, incredibly, the families in the rural villages you have helped us adopt are surviving - all because of the Goats you have helped us provide. Our Goats are being relied upon for their nutritious milk - even more than we could ever have predicted.
With Sudan now facing what the UN calls "the world’s worst humanitarian crisis”, the Goat's milk that mothers are able to feed their children truly is saving their lives.
And these mothers are sharing milk with more and more families, as more people flock to our villages for safety.
We are currently collecting for our emergency appeal - so we can provide sacks of emergency food, mosquito nets, veterinary drugs, water pump repair kits - whatever we can, as soon as it is safe to do so, to help families survive right now.
But our Goats are our truely sustainable lifeline - saving lives not just now but for generations to come, with the offspring being passed on to another family in need again and again.
That is why we need to be ready to provide many more Goats, as soon as it is possible and safe to do so.
Thank you so much for helping us save children's lives, one Goat at a time. We really couldn't do it without you and are so grateful for your support.
