Cyclone Eloise just hit Mozambique, causing widespread destruction, flooding, and displacement. Local ActionAid offices and community partners are coordinating immediate relief, including supplies like food, fuel, hygiene kits, and school books.
Cyclone Eloise has caused widespread destruction across Mozambique. Reports suggest that nearly 2,000 homes have been destroyed, and more than 600 families in Buzi and Nhamatanda districts have needed to evacuate to shelters in safe areas. Crops and livestock have been destroyed. Power supply and communication continue to be disrupted in affected areas.
Right now, the most immediate needs include food, fuel, hygiene kits, school books, mosquito nets, tents, and other supplies. ActionAid is responding through our community partnerships in some of the most affected areas in Mozambique. Your donation will help make sure they can reach people quickly.
ActionAid's response is community-driven, women-led, and rights-based, which means your donation today invests in change that lasts. Donations beyond the scope of ActionAid's Cylone Eloise response may be used for disaster recovery and resilience efforts where needed most.
