Cycle Kosovo for Children is a fundraising event, organized annually since 2014. Since then, a group of 40-50 enthusiastic cyclists take part in the annual tour, cycling through major cities in Kosovo, including 500 km of cycling and 6,000 meters of climbing. The money raised this year will be used to purchase medical equipment to cover the needs of the Pediatric Clinic at the Regional Hospital in Ferizaj so that children in this municipality are provided with quality health services.
National statistics and studies conducted reveal that infant mortality remains the highest in the region. Critical equipment and supply shortages to perform common procedures brings lack of testing, informal access, and frustration among both patients and healthcare professionals. This year, the funds raised will be dedicated to purchase medical equipment for the Pediatric Clinic at the Regional Hospital in Ferizaj, which lacks essential medical equipment.
The funds raised from this initiative will improve the services at the Pediatric Clinic at the Regional Hospital in Ferizaj with the necessary equipment, which will have a great impact on saving the lives of children. The Hospital needs the following medical equipment: - Inhalers - abdominal ECH - Infant Neopuff,- digital pulse oximeters - otoscopes - tensiometers - thermometers, etc.
Money raised by this initiative will be used to support Pediatric Clinic at the Regional Hospital in Ferizaj that is constantly struggling with lack of equipment's and other medical necessities. If we manage to procure the equipment's they require, it will massively improve the quality of the health service they provide, for a long time to come. These equipment's have a larger longevity, and in so, will be within these clinics for the foreseeable future.
