By Marissa Nelson | Cycle for Survival
Cycle for Survival is the high-energy, indoor team cycling event that provides everyone with an opportunity to take action against rare cancers. The 2014 events took place in February and March in 13 cities nationwide: New York City, Boston, Chicago, Miami, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Los Angeles, Seattle, Long Island, Dallas, Greenwich Connecticut, Livingston New Jersey, and Washington DC. Over 17,000 participants took part.
The events raised over $20 million thanks to the generosity of supporters like you!
In just six months, 100% of those funds will be put to work, funding rare cancer research and clinical trials at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). We look forward to updating our generous friends on the projects they are making possible later this summer.
This support is vital because 50% of people with cancer are battling a rare cancer. Rare cancers include brain, pancreatic, cervical, sarcoma, stomach, pediatric and countless others. Each year, MSK treats more than 400 subtypes of cancer and the funds raised with Cycle for Survival are rapidly being translated into new therapies and treatment options for patients here and worldwide.
