Cycle for Survival Update - June 2019

By Katie Pelo | Development Manager

THANK YOU for making this an incredible year.

You helped Cycle for Survival surpass not one, but two, fundraising milestones — raising $42 million during the 2019 events and more than $200 million since 2007 — and we took the events to new heights (literally!).

Most importantly, every single dollar will fund innovative studies and clinical trials to accelerate progress and ultimately brighten the future for people touched by rare cancers around the world.

See our 2019 recap here!

Some highlights include:

  • Cycle for Survival at the Top of the Rock: The 2019 events kicked off 67 floors in the air! Riders took the fight to new heights at Rockefeller Center, which was featured live on the TODAY show.
  • First-Ever All Extreme Ride: In November, Cycle for Survival held the first-ever All Extreme Ride in New York City. Riders rode four back-to-back hours, and committed to raising a minimum of $4,000 in support of rare cancer reesarch.
  • FDA Approves Breakthrough Treatment: Larotrectinib is the first drug that’s designed to outsmart a specific set of genetic mutations, regardless of cancer type. Genetic mutations are found when patients have their tumors sequenced, which Cycle for Survival helps fund. Doctors at MSK led the clinical trials for this breakthrough treatment.
