The December Challenge is On!
Help us raise $2 million by December 31 to accelerate innovations in rare cancer research, including $1 million to develop organiods.
Every dollar raised this month will be earmarked for innovations in research, especially to develop organoids: mini 3D versions of a patient’s tumor used to test drug effectiveness and help predict response to treatment. Although organoids are about the size of a poppy seed, they mimic organs — making them ideal for testing. By focusing on fundraising now, you will directly help to accelerate this revolutionary research. An entirely new and promising cancer drug is on the market thanks to the support of riders like you.
What You Fund
Hear from MSK’s Dr. David Hyman about recently FDA-approved larotrectinib, the first drug designed to outsmart a specific set of genetic mutations, regardless of cancer type. The clinical trials for this breakthrough treatment were led by doctors here at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
During previous December Challenges, the Cycle for Survival community helped fund DNA sequencers — which are used to discover genetic mutations, like the ones larotrectinib targets.
This December Challenge, every dollar raised will continue to advance more innovative research. Tell your friends and family that their generosity can lead to new and better treatments for rare cancer patients.
