This year you helped raise $39 million for rare cancer research! The money raised will be allocated to Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) labs within six months of the events — fueling lifesaving discoveries at MSK and around the world.
1. A new drug developed with Cycle for Survival funding is ready for FDA approval this fall. Larotrectinib is for adults and pediatric patients with a rare mutation in a gene called TRK. It will be the first time a drug is approved for a genetic mutation driving cancer, not a specific cancer type. Larotrectinib has already been granted Breakthrough Therapy Designation and Priority Review by the FDA.
3. Make-an-IMPACT provides DNA sequencing at no cost to patients with select rare cancers. This brand-new initiative focuses on discovering the underlying genetic cause of rare cancers and helps match patients with clinical trials — regardless of where they go for treatment. This unprecedented effort has been made possible largely by Cycle for Survival.
This progress is because of you.
