Julian (no real name)
I am Julian (not real name), I am 9 years old, I live in Medellin in a very old house and without much space, we have a lot in the back, but it is always full of garbage and things to throw away. Since attending the environmental classes and planting in the Corporation SUPERARSE, I have learned many things, I am also learning how to take care of the planet, I have already begun to clean up the garbage that is polluting the space in my house and with my mother we want to plant something that serve us and we like to eat, I am already dreaming and planning how to plant more things, sometimes we have no money to buy food, but if we have them planted we will not have to buy them, I love everything I have learned.
WITH YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS, MANY CHILDREN LIKE, I WILL KEEP LEARNING ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT !!!
In SUPERARSE we have a space where children can sow, take out food, learn and play. In 2019, more than 180 children participated in activities around planting and the environment.
Traditionally planted, hydroponic seeding and an aquaponic system, this is a versatile space that provides children with different ways of learning from the environment, having fun. And it gives them the possibility of turning a hobby into something that can represent money in the future.
The project and its objectives are being redesigned to offer a more formal educational program around these issues, where we can also include adults who want to be planted in small spaces, which can take advantage of to earn income.
We would like to have the support of many donors, to benefit more people around these issues.!!!
Environmental Education - Sustainable Development Goals
By ANA PALACIO | Executive Director
The environment needs the whole society and especially children. Environmental awareness is awakened in them, through Environmental Education.
The environment is an increasingly important issue for society and especially for children who are generations to maintain and guarantee a planet without pollution, they are made to understand that if we destroy and pollute this home, we will be ending our Health and quality of life.
This project has been working on the values of the environment and stimulating children, teaching them to take care of their surroundings, environmental issues must exist today more than ever in the education of children from an early age, for example teaching them the rational use of water and awareness of natural resources. Some of the topics worked this year have been:
Biodiversity degradation Ozone layer landscape and urban environment. Deforestation. Forest fires. Illegal minery. Greenhouse effect. Climate change. Global warming. The trash. Desertification Environmental pollution.
Through this type of education we are also working for the global SDGs, aligned with the objectives:
OBJECTIVE 4. QUALITY EDUCATION OBJECTIVE 6. CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION OBJECTIVE 7. AFFORDABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY OBJECTIVE 11. SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES OBJECTIVE 15. LIFE OF LAND
