Support our 2nd year of reforestation in Sierra Leone! In 2023, we trained 100 women, planted 1,500 seedlings. Now, we aim to double our impact by training 100 more women, planting 3,000 seedlings, and providing family planning education to empower women and girls.
The Waterloo Community faces significant deforestation due to population pressure and resource scarcity. This has led to water shortages, diseases, poor crop yields, and infrastructure damage, disproportionately affecting the most vulnerable, especially women and girls.
We will grow upon last year's women-led reforestation drive, training 100 more local women and girls in tree planting and care. By involving women in environmental conservation and family planning, we address deforestation and promote gender equality and girl's educational success.
This project creates a sustainable future for Sierra Leone by restoring habitats, mitigating climate change, and empowering women and girls. By providing conservation training and healthcare resources, we improve community health, plant thousands of fruit trees a year, and support women's equality. Together, we can build a greener, healthier future for all.
