A year back when we started Project Parahu to create a child-friendly learning center for the children of a Musahar community in Janakpur, it was small initiation of SAATH to engage with the ecosystem of the women rights holders that we were working with. Children are at the center of their ecosystem and the need and learning attitude of the children were evident as they would diligently come to the community learning center to learn 2 times every day.
Today when we look back, the joy we felt every time we visited the learning center is still the same. We continue to work with the children from Musahar communities in Janakpur.
Current Activities:
Every month Stationery Drive is conducted to incentivize the motivation of the children
Daily Literacy and Numeracy classes are conducted in the presence of the 4 facilitators from the same community
Teacher's capacity-building is an ongoing activity at Parahu Learning Center
Along with this, now we have identified a group of children we will engage with to nurture their capacities and support them in becoming the learning center's next facilitators
We thank you for being our supporters at the very beginning of our work. We still continue to work with the children and youth in the community and hope you will continue to extend your support to us.
