Creating a child-friendly Learning Centre in Nepal

Project Update

Second round of Stationery distribution was conducted for the children visiting the learning center in January. The number of children coming to the learning center is on a rise at the moment. The highest record of attendance has been 263 by far. Stationery is distributed in accordance with the grades the children attend in the formal school.

We have been able to hire Mr. Bharat Sada as one of the new facilitators for the children of the learning center. With this, the total number of facilitators at the learning center is now 4. Bharat is also a part of the same Musahar community that houses the learning center.

We also paid a visit to UNICEF based in Dhanusha district to seek any collaboration opportunity for the learning center. The Staff Association has joined hands with us to support the children with stationery supplies as a starting point. We will be exploring other collaboration opportunities with UNICEF in the near future.

The students club at Triyog High School recently provided stationery materials for the children of the learning center. The collaboration between SAATH and Triyog High School is an annual engagement whereby student-student support has been enabled through their student club.
