Dear Valued Leadership Initiative Donor,
Over the summer at the International Leadership Business Summit, many students across America met at Georgetown University to help create innovative solutions for business owners in Nigeria. With the support of various mentors and the Leadership Initiatives team, the students created some outstanding projects; therefore, many were funded and are now in the testing and implementation stage over in Bauchi. Most of these students were from the International Business Alliance Program (IBAP) who work extensively with their own business partners throughout the year, in addition to the summer program.
At this program, students worked with a wedding makeup business to solve their main issues: ways of comparing client’s skin tone with desired or required make-up for effective outcome, advertising, and ways to mangage finances. The students definitely did not disappoint in creating effective solutions for the client. Instead of competing to have the best project, students split up into teams and worked on an individual solution to maximize the benefit of their work.
From the presentations, the students collaborated to set up a finance system with charts that help the owner track short and long term benefits. They also worked with cheap but quality makeup brands to find more cost effective foundations that will fit every color of skin. This is a huge step in the owner's selection; her variety of foundations have been increased from three to over nine shades to accomdate for more diversity. Lastly, the students came up with an quality advertisement plan by creating a sleek logo and finding new ways to gain new clientele and loyal customers. All of these solutions are in the process of review to be funded, but will greatly help the owner if implemented. The dedication of these students is the reason why these owners prosper and grow.
These solutions and ideas are only possible because of your generous donations to the people of Nigeria. We appreciate the support in our endeavors and the students as they find solutions to help grow businesses. Not only are we grateful, but the business owners are too for your faith in them. You are changing the world and the lives of these people. We will continue to strive to empower these businesses so they may lead their communities and set an example for those around them. Thank you again.
Thanks,
Leadership Initiatives Team
