Dear Amazing Leadership Initiative Donors,

Throughout this project to create 100 jobs in Nigeria for 2015 and beyond, Leadership Initiatives has exceeded its expectations for 100 jobs! Our organization has expanded rapidly with many new IBAP teams and summer programs that has promoted the growth of our partnered businesses and jobs. With the expansion of the businesses, owner's have taken in more apprentices and orphans to sponsor and help educate. Therefore from all of the generous donations, we have expanded the reach of our community leaders and their work to empower others.

I want to thank everyone who has supported Leadership Initiatives and our work in this process to make a better life for those in Nigeria. Your donations have given an opportunity that is essentially priceless to these business owners to change their life. Our work is still growing so we appreciate the continuous help that you all have provided. If you would like to continue helping our cause please follow our newest project, Create 100 Jobs in Nigeria during 2018-2019!!

Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives and Respective Donors,

Leadership Initiatives partners with several business owners that play a major role in their communities. We believe that supporting the business with innovative solutions will, in turn, help better the community as a whole. Our International Business Alliance Program (IBAP) enables us to work with promising young leaders to develop innovative ideas for our business partners in Nigeria. These ideas range from simple solutions to inventive creations, enabling our business owners to enhance their organizations through creative, cooperative thinking.

One example of the exciting changes brought about by IBAP is displayed through our work with a catering business in Nigeria, owned by a young woman named Rabi. After graduating from secondary school, Rabi took the initiative to start her own organization. Leadership Initiatives partnered with Rabi and now provides her with business support and classes to encourage her passions and further her entrepreneurial acumen. A designated IBAP team worked with Rabi to create practical solutions for some of the problems she encountered while running her business. The team strategized ways to best preserve food by means of particular storing techniques, natural ingredients, and preservatives. The simple, effective ideas helped Rabi better her business and provided new ways for her to distinguish herself from other local catering services.

IBAP teams work hand-in-hand with our business partners to provide otherwise unavailable expertise and underpinnings. The LI staff prioritizes cooperation and personalization to understand individual problems and create effective business plans. Our business partners are then able to invest in their communities by generating jobs and strengthening customer relationships. The dedicated efforts of our LI staff and business partners catalyze changes made in individual lives and communities, allowing us to further progress our mission.

Dear Amazing LI Donor,

Please meet Kyle (Project Manager), Jett (Communications Chair), Kyla (Special Projects Chair), Brianna (Fundraising Chair), and Blake (Media Chair), this team are from Alta Loma High School, Located in California. The team is partnered with Mobile Phone Repair business owned by Ibrahim. Ibrahim lost his parents a while ago and has been taken care of by an uncle for years. Recently, Ibrahim learned how to repair phones to help take care of his sister and himself and also reduce the burden on their uncle and is excited to have partnered with the IBAP team.

Ibrahim is located at Wunti Market Bauchi, Bauchi State - Nigeria. He has 4 young boys that have learned how to repair mobile phones with him, 2 of which are still with him. Currently, Ibrahim continue his education at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi – Nigeria where he is studying microbiology

The “Alta Loma High School team” lead by Kyla in their research to assist Abdullahi, discovered some of the challenges faced by Ibrahim's business, such as; a lack of technique for managing his financial and a need of new Ideas on advertising.

These amazing future leaders from Alta Loma High School design a financial management on spreadsheet/Excel and had him test it. The financial spreadsheet will allow him to easily see his income and expenditure and device a means of maximally managing his finances. Kyla and her team also design several beautiful logos and asked him to select the one he prefers to assist with the advertising.

"There is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for others." This amazing team is doing just that!

Your continued support is not only transforming the lives of Ibrahim and his community but the lives of American students who are helping him and others grow their businesses.

Because of you, new jobs have been created like the Mobile phone repair shop that is connecting a community by creating a market for affordable cell phone with his repair services.

Thank you from the entire LI family

Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives and Respective Donors,

Because of your generous donations, Leadership Initiatives (LI) was able to create 100 new jobs in 2015. LI takes on the problems of underdevelopment by giving tools needed to communities to address their own needs. We partner with local government and business leaders to provide individuals with the training needed to start their own business. After acquiring these tools, these young leaders take it upon themselves to develop within their communities.

We breathe new life into democracies from the roots by cultivating self-reliant leadership within the community. We help individuals and communities build relationships necessary to solve problems using the existing resources within the community. In the process of doing so, we train individuals to take their neighbors, regions, and nations with them.

Our goal is to better the lives of individual business owners and those in their communities. Creating a vast amount of jobs helps to better the lives of their families by giving them an opportunity to send their children to school, buy needed medication, and improve the overall living conditions. It also betters the lives of those in their community by offering products and services that were unavailable before.

An example of your generosity and donations being put to great work is Muhammad who has worked as an automotive electrical repairman for over five years. His efficient service has given him the reputation of a problem solver, earning him a position as a community leader. Many people throughout the community look to him for advice and guidance. He currently employs three people, fixing around ten to thirteen cars per month. Unlike many automotive repair shops in Nigeria, Muhammad works with most every single model, giving him a leg up on his competitors. Because of his unique skillset, Mohammad is able to provide training in electrical repairing, empowering working men to seek jobs of their own

Rita Mi, a 24-year-old college graduate is yet another great example of your donations being put to great use. She is the first born in her family and has always had a creative mind. She decided to put this skill to use in 2013 by starting her own wedding makeup business. Rita is a driven young woman, glamorizing on average three to five brides every month in both Bauchi and neighboring states. She has been able to train other in her field and help with the education of her two younger siblings.

This would all be impossible without your generosity. Your donations have allowed us to continue our efforts and develop independent profit-generating businesses that serve as models for growth in surrounding communities.

Director of Operations, Marshall Bailly states,

"Project beneficiaries fill voids in the local economy while improving their families' health, education and financial stability. Previous leaders have sent their brothers, sisters and children to school, helped invest in new businesses within the community, offered new services to community members such as the disabled, establishing infrastructure for the future growth of Nigeria.

Leadership Initiatives will be regularly providing updates and insight into these projects as the month's progress through Global Giving’s reporting program. Of course, at any time you can request a project update to learn up to date info on how this project is progressing.

As a supporter of these communities, Leadership Initiatives would love to have you involved if you ever want to help grow our programs, learn of ways you can participate or have new ideas on how to develop our programs please contact me at mbailly@leadershipinitiatives.org. Your hard work and intelligence is the greatest gift we could receive as we attempt to create a better world.

Thank you once again from the bottom of everyone's heart here at Leadership Initiatives. If you would ever like to speak to our staff on the ground, a project leader, one of our Business Alliance student participants, we would love to set up a Skype chat for you, so you can personally see the change you are creating."

Wishing you the best!

Sincerely,

Austin Kunde

An example of your generousity and donations being put to great work is Deborah who has been a widow for over 10 years now. Life has been difficult for her and her 5 children who she has struggled to ensure all get an education. The difficulties they face has been due to a lack of adequate financial income for her to meet their daily needs. Her meagre teacher’s salary does very little for her and thus her desire to own a restaurant to help her and her children with the rising cost of living. She is very excited at the opportunity presented to her with Leadership Initiatives.

Deborah has always been a great cook and has always been told so by many. She loves cooking and has always helped friends and family to cook during birthday or wedding celebrations. She seeks to turn this into a profit making business for herself. She looks forward to the adventure of owning her own business and bringing more income home for her children. Nowadays, she employs four people, produces thirty to thirty-five plates of food a day, and is able to send her children to school.

This would all be impossible without your generousity. Your donations have allowed us to continue our efforts and develop independent profit-generating businesses that serve as models for growth in surrounding communities.
