Create 100 Jobs in Nigeria during 2018-2019!

Dear Tremendous Leadership Initiatives and Respective Donors,

Happy International Women’s Day! Today, we celebrate all women around the world who strive to combat stereotypes, find solutions for their communities’ biggest ailments, and transform the lives of those around them. Here at Leadership Initiatives, there is no shortage of women entrepreneurs who promote significant change through their work, regardless of what it may be. We’d like to take this opportunity to highlight the work of one businesswomen in particular who exemplifies what we stand for at Leadership Initiatives.

Rabi, a twenty-year-old entrepreneur in Bauchi State, Nigeria, has achieved much despite her young age. At Leadership Initiatives, hopeful individuals with drive and ambition are welcome at any age -- age has never been a bulwark for those who truly have power to benefit their entire communities. Rabi operates her catering company in a community heavily critical of female ingenuity, but that hasn’t stopped her from pursuing her business goals. Rabi manages to simultaneously balance school and work, using her profits from her catering towards her tuition. Through her collaboration with students from the International Business Internship Program, Rabi has drastically expanded her business. This expansion has enabled her to both bring her delicious cooking to more customers and hire more female employees to spur this growth, allowing Rabi to slowly undermine her community’s stigma against working women.

Rabi perfectly encapsulates the ways in which your donations can help the expansion of businesses and women’s rights across the planet. Without your generosity, Rabi’s dreams for business expansion and gender equality would never have been fulfilled. Your donations allow Rabi and other like-minded individuals cause impactful change in their communities, lifting those around them at the same time. No matter how large, magnanimous donations like yours provide the necessary foundation for this social, economic, and cultural growth. At Leadership Initiatives, we’d like to thank you again for your belief in our values and mission. After all, history shows that a single person can bring an avalanche of change, impacting others for generations to come.

Happy International Women’s Day from Leadership Initiatives!

Thank you again,

Leadership Initiatives

Dear wonderful donor,

The school year is in full swing and more students than ever are benefiting from the International Business Alliance Program. With your tremendous help, they have the resources necessary to help small businesses all the way in Nigeria. An IBIP student, Joshua Geronimo, explained the amazing impact that the program had on him.

"I've helped develop 3 business solutions for my business partner, Rabi Sani, who runs a catering business in Bauchi, Nigeria. I've made two new advertising programs for her and helped her create over 7 new buttercream frosting flavors that she can now offer. In return, Leadership Initiatives has given me SAT/ACT training, college essay revisions, and a chance to attend the International Business Leadership Summit(ILBS) during the summer of 2017."

Because of donors like you, Leadership Initiatives is able to positively impact students in the United States and small business leaders in Nigeria by providing them with the necessary tools.

Once again, thank you for your support, these opportunities would have not been possible without you.

Sincerely,

Your friends at Leadership Initiatives

Dear Awesome Leadership Initiatives Donor,

Due to your tremendous support, more lives are changing for the better each day. It is almost the end of 2018 and we are excited for what the new year will bring. Once again we would have never been able to touch lives around the world without your amazing support.

I'd like to share with you a story from an IBIP student about her experience with Leadership Initiatives. These experiences could not be possible without your support.

"My time at Leadership Initiatives began two years ago when I attended the Global Youth Innovators at Initiative at the University of Chicago. During my time spent there, I had my first opportunity to work with entrepreneurs in Nigeria to help them implement solutions into their business so that they could grow and thrive in their communities. Greatly humbled and impassioned by this experience, I chose to form an International Business Internship Program team with four of my most determined classmates/friends. We began working with an ambitious young woman named Zainab, who runs her own yogurt business in Bauchi State, Nigeria. After having the opportunity to meet Zainab through Skype and see, first hand, what a hard-working, dedicated individual she is, my team felt compelled to help her in any way we could. Since then, we have developed a new, consistent recipe for her yogurt drink, created a marketing plan with a business name (Golden Spoon) and logo design, and are currently working to implement these solutions and develop a natural and safe way to preserve her product. The IBIP program has given me the amazing opportunity to make a difference across the globe while simultaneously getting to form authentic relationships with astounding individuals."

This student's connection with Zainab could have not been possible without your help. Due to the growth of her business, Zainab is now attending University. Zainab, like all of our business leaders, is dedicated to helping her community grow through different resources, changing the lives of those around her and generations ahead of her.

Once again we thank you for taking part in changing lives around the world through your contributions. By supporting us you are helping students gain life-changing experiences and helping people like Zainab create better lives for themselves and those around them. Thank you again for your kindness.

Thanks,

Your Friends at Leadership Initiatives

Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives Donors,

It is halfway through 2018, and our reach keeps expanding rapidly all thanks to those who support us. Due to this tremendous support, we have more IBIP teams and business partners than every before. We could have not done it without your kindness.

Therefore I would like to share a student's story of her experience with her business partner and how your contributions made this interaction possible:

"My journey at Leadership Initiatives began two years ago when I attended the Global Young Innovators, Envision summer program at Emory University. There we were presented with a business from Nigeria which we would help during the entire week and at the end give a presentation of our solutions. Because of my great work here, I was able to start an IBIP team of my own. For the past year and a half, my team has been working with Ms. Deborah and Unity Restaurant, helping her improve the problems presented to us. Some of our solutions that we have been able to give to Ms. Deborah are a new logo, new business cards, new flyers, and re-designed menus. Currently, we are working on improving her delivery system."

From this student helping Deborah and her restaurant, she has been able to expand, and therefore have the resources to help others in her community. All of our business leaders that we partner with are dedicated community leaders who - if helped - will offer jobs and support to other people in their community. This creates a cycle of change that continues to help generations ahead. As long as we give these people the help that they need, they will make sure to use that gift to cause change themselves.

We thank you again to our donors and supporters because you truly make a big difference in our reach. By supporting us, you are supporting the people of sub-Saharan Africa who are grateful for your contribution. Your generosity has helped us create more job opportunities for both community adults with businesses and orphans. Change can happen anywhere at anytime - and by helping us, you are affecting lives halfway across the world. Thank you again for all that you do.

Thanks,

The Leadership Initiatives Team

Dear Valued Leadership Initiative Donor,

Welcome to our new project, Create 100 Jobs in 2018 and 2019! For those who witnessed and helped with our success on the last Create 100 Jobs project, I personally thank you for your help and support to reach our goal! However, the mission of Leadership Initiatives is expanding more than ever and that is all due to your continuing support as donors!

As you may know, an integral part of the Leadership Initiatives work is through the International Business Alliance Program (IBAP). This is a program where some of the brightest high school students in the United States devote their time to helping business partners in Nigeria. Currently we have dozens of teams that are actively helping owners in many businesses such as fish farming, wedding, tailoring, and repair! The student solutions are amazing and are the reason why Leadership Initiatives has seen so much success in recent years. Both student and business owner benefit from this inimitable program; to show you all the effect of this partnership, I will share a story from a current IBAP student who is excelling in the program:

“Rabi’s face lit up on my computer screen one foot away on my desk. I had just told her that, yes, I do attend school. She had opened her own catering business so she could attend university. Rabi is a twenty-year-old spatula-wielding entrepreneur living in Bauchi, Nigeria. She operates a catering company living in a house miles away from the market, with no internet connection, very few financial resources, and a social stigma against working women.

I was connected with Rabi during my internship at Leadership Initiatives, helping her to create a marketing campaign, develop a financial management strategy, and standardize her recipes to become more profitable. Rabi talked about paying for her own tuition, gaining enough customers to employ other young women, and providing quality service to the members of her community. Not only was she motivated by personal financial stability, Rabi was driven towards a better economic future for her community, country, and continent.”

As you can see, this program is not only helping develop a business in need, but creating a friendship that will last forever.

Thank you all for your dedication and support in our efforts to empower the community leaders of Nigeria. We appreciate everything you have contributed to help our cause. Since I have been with the non-profit for a few years, I know that what you are helping create a better life for hundreds of kids and adults both in the United States and Nigeria. I am grateful for your continued gratitude along our journey to make the world a better place for all.
