COVID-19 Awareness

By Sharad Agarwal | Project Leader

Dear Friends, Donors, and Supporters,

Greetings from HLFPPT!

The New Year has started with new hopes and happiness. Many of us have done a lot towards benefiting the communities in several ways during the last year. We would like to thank our donors for the previous donations that you have made for COVID-19 Crisis Relief & Support in India. Since last months, due to lack of donations, we are not able to reach our target of supporting more lives during the pandemic.

Though the funds were short, HLFPPT has made efforts to continue COVID-19 related activities among hard to reach communities. The magnitude of the community misconception about COVID-19 is one of the biggest challenges faced during pandemic. Rapid and appropriate risk communication is required for containment of the disease and keeping fear and false stories at bay. Due to lack of awareness, trust and rumours in the system, less cooperation has been received from the community in breaking the chain of infection. To smash the myths and misconceptions of the community, HLFPPT is generating awareness for COVID-19 across India. In this critical situation, it is highly essential to share the right information on COVID-19 with the communities that are most vulnerable to the infection. HLFPPT is delivering simple and effective messages like:

  • Hand-washing, physical distancing and following respiratory etiquette
  • Knowledge on the Facts and Myths on COVID-19
  • Recognizing and combating negative behaviours as well as xenophobia, stigma, and discrimination associated with COVID-19
  • Seeking early medical care on appearance of symptoms
  • Promoting healthy behaviour, nutritious practices and immunity building

Thank you so much for standing with HLFPPT during the difficult times. But we are falling short of funds to provide support for COVID-19 victims since last quarter. Thus, we seek your constant support in our endeavours.
