Our kids' health keeps being the number 1 priority especially now that they're back to school for good!
This is why we decided to create two sickbays inside our slum's schools: a place where the kids' health can be monitored everyday thanks to our nurse who does an incredible job.
She is responsible for visiting the kids when they don't feel well, and for following up on the kids who are HIV positive or suffer from sickle-cell anemia and are under treatment.
The sickbay is equipped with all the necessary items for the nurse, the kids and their families, and has all the common medicines available for the kids' needs: paracetamol, cough syrup, vitamins, anti-malaria, dewormers etc...
Moreover, in case of something serious happening to the children, our nurse has the chance to videocall a doctor at Neema Hospital in Nairobi (an excellence of pediatric care) for a consult, and together they decide whether the kid needs to be hospitalized.
The nurse and the sickbay have quickly become a focal point for the slum community too, and since opening it we have been able to visit and treat also the children's relatives, to keep staying close to the people in Korogocho and Dandora.
PLEASE CONSIDER SHARING OUR PROJECTS WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY, SPREAD OUR MESSAGE AND HELP US REACH MORE CHILDREN!
