Summary

LEAP Africa is responding to the pandemic by supporting the most vulnerable in Nigeria, working through our social entrepreneurs who are at the frontline of providing relief to the poorest communities who have been hardest hit by the crisis. The interventions are catering to the welfare and wellbeing of these low-income families in three broad areas: Food supplies and toiletries, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and sensitization. Join us to scale the intervention activities in Nigeria.

Challenge

The global impact of COVID-19 has made a lot of nations institute a compulsory lockdown to prevent further spread of the virus. In Nigeria, the effect of this lockdown and other measures have been most felt by the marginalised due to poverty and hunger.

Solution

LEAP Africa is responding to the pandemic by supporting the most vulnerable in our country, working through our network of social entrepreneurs who are at the frontline of providing relief to the poorest communities who have been hardest hit by the crisis. The interventions are catering to the welfare and wellbeing of these low-income families in three broad areas: Food supplies and toiletries, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and sensitization about the preventive measures.

Long-Term Impact

The project will feed and educate 3,000 households and 10, 000 individuals in underserved communities in Nigeria, including inmates in correctional centres, allowing them to live decent lives and stay safe during the period of government-imposed restrictions within the country due to the Pandemic
