The current worldwide pandemic, Covid-19, is the first in over 100 years and has had a major impact in the lives of the indigenous communities in Venezuela. Your donation will help stop the spread of the Coronavirus in an area already suffering from poverty and malnutrition.
Currently thousands of indigenous children and their families living in Venezuela near the Colombian border are hard hit by the worldwide pandemic, Covid-19. Already at risk of starvation and disease, the pandemic is adding further strain to an area recently listed as one of the poorest areas in the world.
The Wayuu Taya Foundation provides education, nutrition and clean drinking water to the children and their families. Continuation of these programs is vital to end starvation, eradicate disease and stop further spread of the Coronavirus.
Our project will involve the community teaching sustainability through agricultural projects, education and healthcare. Families will learn to work the land by growing food which will improve the health and well-being of their families. They will learn basic health which will help eradicate disease in their communities.
