Help St. Francis Hospice fund PPE to protect its patients, their families, staff and volunteers from the spread of COVID-19. Imagine a time when PPE is not in short supply, when patients can be with their relatives and when people will not spend the last days of their lives separated from their family. Donations will protect staff and support family members to be with their relatives at one of the most vulnerable and difficult times of their life Help fund PPE NOW!
The requirement for PPE to protect patients/relatives/staff and volunteers has grown astronomically in the fight against COVID-19. Costs have increased at a time when funding has been drastically reduced by the cancellation of public fundraising events, the closure of charity shops and the suspension of other fundraising activities. Your donations will help provide PPE so that St. Francis can face these new challenges and continue to provide care to local people when they most need it.
St. Francis will be able to purchase PPE from approved local providers, ensuring that they can protect patients, staff and their relatives; making visiting possible whilst keeping people safe. Funds will also be used to provide 6 screens in Charity shops to enable volunteers and the general public to social distance. Reopening of the charity shops will be vital in restarting this critical funding stream. Sufficient PPE will help relatives spend precious time with their loved ones.
St. Francis receive 23% of their funding from the NHS; the rest comes from charitable donations/business support/grants. Their funding stream has drastically reduced overnight as a result of the nation having to social distance and at a time when the requirement for PPE has risen to ensure that patients/staff/visitors and volunteers are protected. Until there is a vaccine the hospice will struggle to meet their goal of "helping local people when they need it". They need your help more than ever!
