During the reporting period, community awareness, expansion of livelihood base and & allied activities was the focused intervention among the vulnerable communities to reduce the impact of Covid 19 pandemic and reduce the barriers around them.

Our target group is General Public, returned migrant workers, daily wage earner, women headed households, farmers , young adults and adolescents

Community Awareness: In 300 villages meeting had been organized with the active engagement of adolescent group and peer leaders and increased creating awareness among the households regarding the new infections now a days . the awareness mainly focus in terms of covering in terms of covering one’s mouth and nose with a tissue/elbow when coughing or sneezing ,avoid spillting in public places, using masks in crowded spaces and frequently making a practice of hand washing.

Promotion of Climate Resilient Agriculture: Millets being the traditional & climate resilience crop among the people which can be grown even in upland with very low water availability and high nutritious value in all respect, we have joined hands in materializing the government efforts in the state. We have spread our reach to 4 blocks of three districts for this activity and cultivated 1538 hectors of lands with the involvement of 3342 farmers. During the reporting periods period we have organized various activities like : Organized village meetings for millets recipe demonstration and importance of millets production, millets food festivals, awareness campaign for millets procurement, promotions of millets tiffin centers, exposure visit among farmers, organize various farmers field schools and demonstration of various organic manure to promote NPM based cropping system, which resulted the following.

  • Farmers are mobilized NPM based farming, they have prepared and applied NPM based products in the farm.
  • 3258 farmers households have been covered for different millets cultivations in four Blcoks of Odisha.
  • 1538 hectors land have been covered cumulatively for millets cultivation
  • 7107 quintals millets has been procured and given to Millets Mandi (PACS) with a minimum support price of Rs. 3700/ Quintals
  • 192.17 lakhs amounts have been provided to farmers as incentive from government cumulatively

Organization Building: During the reporting period we have given specific emphasis on promoting and capacity building of the farmers producer organization and producer groups. Regular meeting have been organized in 24 producer groups and women farmers producer organization board of directors, which resulted the following achievements

  • 1080 share have been mobilized cumulatively and the share amount is Rs. 379200/- (Three Lakhs Seventy-Nine Thousand Two Hundred Only)
  • Advisory services provided to producer company shareholders and they have been linked with various government schemes and programs
  • Agriculture seed license applied and received from Agriculture and farmers empowerment department.
  • Market linkages have been done through aggregation of different products through producer company and producer groups

Production enhancement: In production enhancement component we have achieved following results during the reporting period i.e

  • Agricultural inputs and improved farm equipment have been provided and necessary timely advisory services extended to 2116 farmers households
  • To support production enhancement in farm, non-farm and off farm sectors additional 10 Agricultural Entrepreneurs groomed and they will be provided technical training by the government department .
  • 1393 acres covered under different high value crop with required package of practice (POP) , where the small farmers, migrant households and other vulnerable families included.
  • 276 small land holding farmers households are mobilised and attention diverted from paddy to Kharif Onion Cultivation.
  • Largely farmers are financially benefited around 50,000/acre in a period of 90 days and a total of near about 62, 00000/- benefits given to farmers in the locality through these initiatives.
  • 890 are mobilised and they are involved in back yard poultry and goat rearing activities

Value edition and Marketing: This is one of the new and important area we are involve to ensure marketing of the products and give a good and assured income to the vulnerable households. The following are the major activities and achievements which are mention below:

  • Different farm produces like tomato, brinjal, pumpkin and watermelon aggregated in one place by the farmers and sold to the venders
  • As per the demands women producer company provided inputs like seeds, fertilizer and pesticides to their share holders in their door steps with reasonably lower price from the market.
