The objectives of the meeting was to create awareness among adolescents and community members on Covid 19 appropriate behavior, practicing hand washing in critical time to reduce various diseases, and role of young adults to avoid life losses in any upcoming disaster situation. The program was quite interesting and successful where we could able to reach out around 7500 targeted audience with clear messages.
Mobilization for Booster Dose Covid Vaccination: Covid 19 vaccination was proven one of the live saving vaccinations globally; it had helped to restore life and livelihoods of the global community in general and more specifically in the project location of YCDA. Therefore, during this reporting period we have ensured Covid 19 vaccination among the young adults and simultaneously Booster dose for appropriate age group of adoloscents & elderly.
Income Diversification and Agriculture Restoration:Scheme linkages were one of the focus components during this reporting period, we have identified the most vulnerable families in the remotest locations of the project areas, who were being impacted adversely because of Covid 19. The identified families brought in to the ambit of the farmers producer organization and provided various agriculture seeds, involved in Back Yard Poultry Farming (BYP) program and also provided Millets Seeds for Millets Framings, which can be consumed and sold in the assured government marketing system. The objective of this initiative was to ensure income of the vulnerable households and make them resilient to any kind of disaster situation in future.
Linking with Various Schemes: Because of the Covid 19, there are many families who have been lost their bread earners, which pushed them to the vicious circle of poverty, young children stopped going to schools, engaged in households chores and domestic work to manage the difficult situation. Therefore we have involved and taken a drive to involve all children who were impacted due to Covid 19 in Government announced and sponsored ASHIRBAD schemes. Till date 3638 children had been involved with the schemes and getting benefit out of it and they are going to school regularly. To monitor this activity the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) had been linked with them and they were in regular touch with each child.
A Day for children: A day for children was one of the activities, which has been conceptualized and institutionalized in the operational district, the objectives of the innovation was to involve all stakeholders like: (Service providers, elected PRI representatives, school teachers, community leaders, religious leaders, adolescents and young adults, front line health workers) for the cause of children and discuss the issues and act upon it with appropriate local solutions.
