India has declared a 21 day lockdown due to the Corona Virus. Our very poor Dalit mothers will be unable to work and earn enough money to feed their families. They survive from day to day making money to buy food. They have no savings and now no jobs. Their Micro finance schemes will no longer be able to operate. With the help of your donation Nandri will ensure our mothers and their families survive this catastrophe. Just a small amount enables us to support one of our families for 1 month.
The people of India, especially the very poor will be extremely vulnerable and ill equipped to deal with the Covid19 virus. Our Nandri mothers live in rural areas with little or no access to medical care or hospitals. Nandri is committed to supporting our mothers in every way possible, both financially and also crucially to educate them in the huge importance of good hygiene, especially hand washing and social distancing in order to help them avoid contracting the potentially fatal virus.
Nandri will provide both financial and educational support to our mothers to enable them to feed their families and also educate them in how to prevent contracting the Covid19 virus.
WIthout the support of Nandri, our mothers and their families are in danger of going hungry during this pandemic. The mothers could also lose their micro businesses which they have so proudly developed with the help of Nandri, thus losing their ability to be self sufficient.
