Distribution of Grocery Kits to Private School Teachers – A Short Report
As Covid 19 raised its head in India, educational institutions all over the country were closed down in the third week of March 2020. There was a complete lockdown and every sector in the economy and every walk of life came to a standstill.
After the lockdown was lifted, most people went back to their normal lives as the economy was opened up. As the schools were still closed, most private schools were not able to recover fees from their students. This resulted in an acute financial crisis for most schools. Many schools either terminated their teachers or paid little salaries.
In view of the continued hardship being faced by the private teachers, Sphoorti Foundation identified 1200 teachers from 25 Private Schools in Hyderabad and Medchal districts. They complied with our stipulation that the details of the beneficiaries (phone numbers and residential addresses) must be provided upfront.
We completed the distribution between Aug 12 and Oct 20. All the teachers expressed their gratitude for helping them in these challenging circumstances.
Sphoorti Foundation looks forward to more opportunities to work with you in the years to come.
