The emergency relief aims at providing immediate food ration support to the domestic housekeepers who have lost their source of income and also do not have any other means to fulfill this basic requirement for their families. It also seeks to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 spread in the community due to the crowded urban slum conditions, through the distribution of hygiene kits, installation of hand washing units and furthermore to support a sustained income generation during the lockdown period.
Coronavirus has impacted lives of the poor in a way one cannot even imagine. Hundreds of security guards, salesmen and women, assistants, daily wagers, janitorial staff and domestic workers who were working at showrooms, shopping malls, business centres, banks and private offices all of a sudden found themselves jobless and there was no one to feed them or their families.

It will also support income generation and address shortages in local markets through the production of paper & cloth bags and face masks in the targeted areas of district Lahore.
