Thank you for your continued support of the Coral Reef Conservation project in the Seychelles. Our research has become an integral part of Seychelles' conservation efforts.
Our extensive studies on reef health and aquatic debris persist, with new ventures into 3D underwater photography and aerial mapping. Your generous donations help to equip us for these tasks.
Regular beach and mangrove clean-ups, including Divers Against Debris (DAD) dives, address both washed-up and left by people. So far this year we have conducted over 90 site cleans and collected over 700 kgs of waste.
As well as our standard data collection on fish, invertebrates, and corals, we've conducted over 70 endagered species surveys in Seychelles this year. We've also conducted over 400 bio diversity surveys. Your support with resources for these surveys is appreciated.
Expanding our coastal program, we've initiated baseline studies of the local ecosystem before extensive cleanup and restoration. Mangrove surveys revealed previous illegal dumping, and we're collaborating with local authorities for large-scale cleanup, addressing an estimated 100 tons of waste.
We extend our gratitude for your fantastic support, vital for continuing essential research and ongoing efforts to clean debris from the ocean, beaches, and mangroves. Together, we can make a significant difference. We look forward to updating you next quarter.
